The Bishop of the South Ankole Diocese the Rt Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe has called upon Ugandans and the World at large to intensify cohesion in the fight against poverty at household levels as they mark this year’s festivities.
Bishop Ahimbisibwe noted that Christians can eradicate poverty if they can use their small portions of land profitably when the family is united.
In his Christmas message, the bishop advised couples to desist from t domestic violence and rather work together as a family to develop and shape their children in the right direction.
He revealed that in the next year the Diocese will be under the theme, United for service and growth from the book of Ephesians 4:11-16 stressing that there will be no service and growth when poverty and domestic violence still exists in the communities.
He appealed to parents to give more time to their children during festivities and long holidays.
Bishop Ahimbisibwe commended the Christians for their cooperation and support towards the growth of the Diocese saying that in the ending year the diocese received the tenth Archdeaconry of Itojo from Ankole Diocese.
He expressed happiness that in the last 10 years of existence, South Ankole Diocese triumphantly realized its vision of being a Diocese that glorifies God with 61 parishes and 281 sub-parishes.
