Kinkiizi diocese in Kanungu district is finalizing preparations for an ordination week that will see two ordinands be made Deacons whereas 6 deacons will be made Priests
The diocesan communications officer Rev Bob Ntengereize says the ordination week that will run from the 27th to 4th November 2022 will be hosted by St. Andrew’s Kihiihi COU in Kihiihi Town council
The Diocesan Secretary – Rev. Can. Kenneth Kanyankole quoting Luke 19: 1-10 said that an Ordination Service is a service that ushers revival into a community.
He says Kihiihi Community will receive God’s blessings the same way the Biblical character Zacchaeu received his salvation Rev Can Kanyankole was speaking during the very last preparatory meeting for the upcoming event.
A Mega Choir composted of 112 members hailing from the 9 parishes of Kihiihi Archdeaconary gathered today to rehearse the songs that will be sang during the 4th December Ordination Service.
During the Ordination Week, all Priests will be taken through the last session of the church leadership and management course which will be facilitated by the CORAT AFRICA whose headquarters are in Kenya.
The Rt. Rev. Dan Zoreka, Bishop of the Diocese of Kinkiizi chose to conduct the Ordination service away from St. Peter’s Cathedral -Nyakatare to give a feel of an ordination service to the many who have never gotten a chance to attend one.
The Ordination service will be followed by the Diocesan council on the 16th December.
Rev Ntegyereize also noted that St Andrews COU Kihiihi will host a lay conference that will be attended by 250 participants from Kihiihi Archdeaconry 1st and 2nd December 2022.
The conference will be Facilitated by Provincial Head of laity Mr John Tereraho , Rev Jasper Tumuhimbise, CEO Upchurch of Uganda Commissioners and Mr Frederick Olweny from CORAT Africa Based in Nairobi
