The first 4 sections of the Kigezi Boona Motor rally were yesterday completed without any major incidents as thousands of revelers thronged viewing points and Rukungiri main stadium to catch the action.
The rally cars were flagged off at Heritage hotel in the morning and immediately attacked the first section of the rally.
Action for the first competitive section was preceded by a visit by the rally drivers to the home of their fallen colleague Pole-pole who passed away last year.
Action began in Rwashamire -Ntungamo and ended in Omukyiyenje in Rukungiri district and the drivers later switched to the Benyendera section which started from Katobo -Nyabikiku -Mbaguta road -Nyyakariro to Rwerere and San Diego section which went thru Nyakagyeme to Nyabitete in Buyanja sub county.
Later in the afternoon over 16 cars participated in super special section that took place at Rukungiri stadium, where internal affairs minister Gen Saverino Kahinda Otafiire was chief guest.
Action continues today with the Drivers taking on the San Diego and the Platinum-Kikoni sections before winding up with a prize giving event at Heritage hotel
