Kibatsi Development Association has received commendation for its noteworthy contributions to advancing education standards and sports development in Kajara county, Ntungamo district. Bishop Nathan Ahimbisibwe of South Ankole diocese expressed these sentiments today during the fundraising ceremony held in Rwamabondo Town Council.
Bishop Nathan Ahimbisibwe praised the association’s efforts, emphasizing their positive impact on education and sports in the region. He spoke during the fundraising event, where funds collected will be allocated to support secondary-level students who have excelled academically, ensuring that they can pursue their education without financial constraints in the first term of 2024.
Dr. Godwin Atwiine, a lecturer at Team University Kampala Center, lauded the association for its initiative in supporting education in Kajara county. He pledged to provide scholarships to students scoring aggregates 4 and 5 up to senior four, as well as those with talents, aiming to boost the education sector in the area.
Kibatsi Development Association, in collaboration with Kasyata Legacy, also organized a bike racing and football tournament to celebrate the life of the late Kasyata, a prominent businessman in Rwamabondo Town Council.
David Musinguzi, representing the Association leaders, expressed gratitude for the continuous support received since the organization’s inception. He highlighted their focus on supporting the education of less privileged children to pave the way for their future success. The association was formed to foster unity and promote education and health services in Kibatsi sub-county, transcending regional and tribal boundaries.
Elizabeth Nsimadara, the Regional President of the Eastern African Farmers Federation, urged the people of Kajara to recognize the importance of education as an equalizer. She encouraged them to embrace agriculture to increase their income, offering to organize free workshops to enhance their agricultural knowledge. Nsimadara pledged support for the Kibatsi Development Association’s goal of facilitating education for the less privileged in Kajara county.
Jim Kebisho, representing the late Joram Kasyata’s family, explained that the football and bike racing competition aimed to develop youth talents in the area, commemorating the achievements of their father in Kibatsi sub-county.
The fundraising ceremony of the Kibatsi Development Association received blessings through prayers organized by both Protestants and Catholics. The event was attended by political and local leaders, especially those vying for the position of Kajara county legislator.
