Police in Bushenyi District have initiated an investigation into the mysterious death of a 33-year-old Kenyan national.
Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for the Greater Bushenyi Police, disclosed that the deceased was a student of medicine at Kampala International University’s Western Campus in Ishaka, Bushenyi.
Identified as Isaac Otieno Ochola, the 33-year-old Kenyan national was enrolled at Kampala International University (KIU) Western Campus in Ishaka, Bushenyi District.
Alex Tumusiime, a 51-year-old resident of Ruharo, Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality, and a peasant, reported the incident to the police. He stated that the occurrence took place at an undisclosed time in Cell D, Bushenyi-Ishaka.
Reportedly, the deceased was last seen in the evening hours of May 9th, 2024, at his hostel, where he had been residing before his disappearance.
Subsequently, on May 10th, 2024, neighbors noticed a foul smell emanating from his room, accompanied by the presence of flies. They alerted the security guard, who then reported the matter on May 11th, 2024.
Tumusiime mentioned the discovery of various medications, including pethidine hydrochloride injections, Clonazepam, and syringes, placed on a table near the bed.
The body was found lying face down, well-dressed, without any covering, and was subsequently transported to Kampala International University Teaching Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination.
