The Right Reverend Gaddie Akanjuna, Bishop of the Kigezi diocese, has emphasized the importance of prioritizing inner spiritual growth over outward demonstrations of faith to advance the church.
Speaking during a confirmation service at Nyamiyaga Church of Uganda parish in Bubare Town Council of Rubanda district, where he confirmed 19 individuals into the Anglican Faith, Bishop Akanjuna urged Christians to focus on the condition of their hearts, drawing inspiration from the teachings of Apostle Paul in Romans 12:2. He cautioned against conforming to worldly patterns and stressed the significance of allowing God to bring about transformation from within.
Furthermore, Bishop Akanjuna encouraged Christians to actively participate in civic responsibilities, including involvement in government initiatives such as the national population census. He advised Christians to foster community development by forming groups to address poverty and accessing government funding, such as the parish development model funds, contributing to poverty alleviation efforts.
