Rev. Father Benjamin Tukamushaba, the parish priest of St Peter’s Katojo Catholic parish in Kabale Diocese, has urged people to provide strong support for this year’s Bishop Annual Appeal Fund (BAAF) to enhance service delivery.
He delivered this message on Thursday, October 12, 2023, during a teaching session while leading a thanksgiving mass organized by the members of St. Mary’s Hill within the Katojo Parish in Kagarama A cell, Rwakirungura Parish, Buyanja Sub County, Rukungiri District.
The purpose of this mass was to collect contributions for BAAF.
Father Benjamin Tukamushaba highlighted several ongoing projects in the Diocese, emphasizing that they aim to generate income to support the training of clergy and overall church well-being.
Canon Katusiime Frank Matama, the chief guest, encouraged Christians to willingly contribute a portion of their wealth to the church, as it is a divine blessing that multiplies when shared.
Anthony Nshoborokirwe, the head of the laity in Katojo Parish, mentioned that they were required to contribute 3.5 million, and each hill was asked to provide 250,000 shillings. He added that they have decided to raise this amount during the thanksgiving events organized within the hills, expressing confidence in their ability to achieve this goal.
Civil Engineer Tumwesigye Ian, the catechist of St. Mary’s Hill, shared their aspiration to build a church and establish a shrine dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
