Kashenyi Secondary School, located in Ruhinda sub-county, Rukungiri District, is rallying for public support to raise 30 million UGX to facilitate four students and their patron’s trip to South Africa for the African Debating Championship 2024.
Headteacher Tusingwire Francis shared that the school has a proud history in debating, with one of its students, Aijuka Edwin, recently ranking as the 6th best debater in the country. Despite their impressive achievements in the National Debating Competitions, the school has faced challenges in securing the necessary funds to send the students to represent both their school and Uganda on this international stage.
The African Debating Championship is set to take place from December 8 to December 15, 2024, and Kashenyi SS team is determined to showcase their skills. Unfortunately, their previous fundraising efforts have not yielded the needed support, prompting the school to appeal to well-wishers and the community for assistance.
The school community is calling on individuals and organizations to contribute towards this noble cause, ensuring that these talented students have the opportunity to participate in this prestigious competition.
Your support can help Kashenyi Secondary School make its mark on the African debating scene!
