It was a day filled with joy and celebration as Kashanda Tukore SACCO recognized over 12 members for exemplary saving and increased shareholding by rewarding them with gifts such as cows, goats, rice, and beddings.
Kashanda Tukore SACCO, located in Kashanda Parish, Rugarama North Sub-county, Ntungamo District, conducted this initiative under its annual promotion, “Ekiterekye Ky’Omwaka.” The event saw outstanding members rewarded for their commitment to saving and purchasing shares.
Among the beneficiaries, Ndagano Willis received a cow, while Kasigazi Albert was awarded a goat, among others. The recipients expressed their gratitude, praising the SACCO’s management for recognizing their efforts and encouraging savings culture. They also highlighted how the SACCO has positively impacted their lives, particularly through the provision of loans, which have helped boost their personal and business development.
Amanya Ivan Rwanyakibale, the Chairperson of the Board at Kashanda Tukore SACCO, stated that the purpose of the promotion was to give back to members as a token of appreciation. He confirmed that the SACCO had distributed various rewards, including cows, goats, rice, and beddings, to recognize loyal and active members.
Additionally, Rwanyakibale emphasized that one of the SACCO’s primary objectives is to promote development by safeguarding members’ savings, offering them loans at low interest rates, and ensuring financial growth for all members.
Grant Tumwebaze, the General Manager of Kashanda Tukore SACCO, reaffirmed that the promotion is an annual event. The 2024 edition concluded with a football match between Kashanda Tukore SACCO’s team and Bishop Stuart University’s team from Mbarara at Kamahuri Primary School.
Tumwebaze further explained that most of the rewarded members were those with significant shares and savings in the SACCO, as a way of recognizing and motivating them. He also encouraged those who are not yet involved in SACCO savings to join and improve their financial stability and overall quality of life.
