Christians have been urged not to give up the habit of doing good, just as God doesn’t get tired of us.

These remarks were made today by Venerable Canon Joash Tushange Omujuni, Archdeacon of Rukoni Archdeaconry, during the thanksgiving of Mr. Moses Akampurira at St. Mark’s Karambi C.O.U, Kyamate Archdeaconry, South Ankole Diocese, Ntungamo District. The event was an initiative to fundraise for the construction of a two-classroom block at Karambi Senior Secondary School, a church-founded school.

He further called upon believers to love their enemies, treat them well, and pray blessings upon them, saying that when they hate, they create enmity, and when they love, they create friends. He added that believers must be ready to make sacrifices for God, as doing good is not as easy as they might think but requires patience and sacrifice.

Moses Akampurira, in his speech, said that he and his wife thank God for having spent 10 years in marriage with all the blessings God has given them, including children. He said their main intention is to improve the education status and environment of Karambi Senior Secondary School.

He further encouraged parents to educate and support the school in all ways, urging students as well to love their school. He and his family have bought football and netball jerseys to promote talents among children and encouraged them to work harder for a brighter future.

Nimusima Recabu, headmaster of Karambi Senior Secondary School, appreciated the initiative and the drive, saying they are hopeful this will play a vital role in developing the school’s infrastructure.

He further pledged that the funds collected will be allocated as they should be and urged parents to trust them with their children and help develop Karambi to greater heights.

Wilber Muhereza, chairman of the PTA of Karambi Senior Secondary School, thanked the family of John Wilson Katooma, chairperson LC3 Nyarutuntu Subcounty, led by his son Moses Akampurira, and the Karambi fraternity for this initiative to see the unfinished block completed.

He further urged parents to support the school by bringing in more children and pledged that the building will be completed with God’s help.

The initiative collected 29,473,500 shillings, including pledges, and 7 bags of cement also pledged.
