In a recent gathering at the Kanungu Town Council Hall, Mayor Godfrey Karabenda of Kanungu District expressed his appreciation for the conscientious efforts of census supervisors as they prepare for the upcoming population count.
Addressing the assembled census enumerators and supervisors, Mayor Karabenda lauded their dedication and commitment to ensuring a thorough and unbiased census process. He noted with satisfaction that despite reports of irregularities in other areas, the personnel under his jurisdiction had conducted themselves with integrity and merit.
Karabenda emphasized the importance of adhering to the rules and regulations outlined in the census manuals and utilizing Computer Assisted Personal Interviews (CAPI) for accurate data collection. He urged the trained UBOS staff to maintain these standards throughout the interviewing process, facilitating efficient validation procedures.
Supporting these sentiments, Moses Akankwasa, the Town Clerk of Kanungu Town Council, underscored the significance of adherence to protocol in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of the census survey. He emphasized that meticulous adherence to guidelines would result in higher quality data and better service delivery planning by the government.
Providing further insight, the District Census Officer, Atuhaire, outlined the forthcoming tasks of the supervisors and enumerators, highlighting the importance of asking the prescribed questions to facilitate effective population planning.
As preparations continue, the Kanungu District remains poised for a comprehensive and meticulously executed census operation, guided by principles of fairness, accuracy, and efficiency.
