Police in Kanungu have one Yosiah Kato 38 years in custody for allegedly hitting his two years and half old daughter Fortunate Akansasira to death when was fighting his wife whom he claims to have found ready-handed having marital sex in his bed with another man.
It’s alleged that on 5/8/2023 at around 10:00 pm, at his home at Omurushasha cell Mpungu parish/sub-county, the suspect was from Omurushasha trading center for a social evening with friends and that on reaching his home, he allegedly found a certain unknown man having sexual intercourse with his wife one Kyosimure Evelyn in his bedroom.
He knocked at the door and the woman opened a different door entrance where that person escaped from.
Thereafter, he engaged his wife to find out who was with her in his bed, and his wife only replied that if he had seen him, why couldn’t he arrest him.
That, out of annoyance, grabbed a nearby stick and started assaulting her from the bed. Unfortunately, the stick hit the innocent kid who was sleeping killing her instantly.
The suspect escaped that very night and handed himself in at Kanungu police station on Sunday 06th August 2023 and that’s when investigations commenced.
The scene was visited and documented, the body was picked up and taken to Mpungu health center 4 for postmortem as Inquiries continues.
