Kanungu District organized an inter-religious Thanksgiving prayers event on Friday at the Kanungu District Playground in Kanungu Town Council.
The event brought together religious leaders, district officials, and residents in a unified effort to promote peace, unity, and development in the face of regional challenges.
The prayers focused on the importance of collaboration among various religious and political groups, urging the community to reject division, embrace harmony, and work together for collective progress. Leaders emphasized mutual respect and understanding, fostering a sense of unity among the diverse faiths present.
District leaders, including Chairperson Eng. Sam Kajojo and Deputy RDC Gad Rugaaju, highlighted the significance of unity in improving service delivery and called for heightened vigilance during the festive season to ensure public safety and security.
In addition to promoting unity, the event also addressed critical local issues, such as the ongoing tea crisis and rising inflation. Speaker Byarihanga Frank called on leaders to collaborate in finding solutions to these pressing concerns.
The interdenominational gathering showcased the community’s shared commitment to using faith as a foundation for overcoming challenges and building a brighter future for Kanungu District.
