There was a verification process at the office of the Gender, Labour, and Social Development in Kanungu Town Council, Kanungu District for Women groups applying for UWEP funds.

Engabi John, the focal person overseeing women and youth affairs at the national level, highlighted that the primary aim of the verification was to authenticate the identity of the applying groups and individuals, ensuring the proper utilization and management of government funds.

Engabi stated that 42 million shillings were allocated for youth disbursement, while 59 million shillings were designated for women.

Numerous groups presented success stories, demonstrating prudent utilization of the funds for growth. Those who effectively managed the revolving fund will now receive it for the second time.

Lukia Mbabazi, the secretary for Gender, Labour, and Social Development, advised beneficiaries to refrain from purchasing unnecessary items that do not generate income. She assured continuous support for those who perform well to access additional funds.

Ambrose Mwesigye Amanyire advised beneficiaries to start small and maintain honesty to foster observable development in their area. He emphasized that the funds provided are seeds that must be cultivated productively. Ambrose urged beneficiaries to avoid defaulting on repayments to maximize the benefit for more people and cautioned those withholding previous funds to settle their dues to avoid legal consequences.
