The Kabale territorial police are currently in pursuit of individuals suspected of engaging in sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl. These two individuals go by the names Dan and Akim and are adult males residing in the Rushaki cell of the Southern division within Kabale municipality/district.
According to reports, on the 21st of October 2023, around 07:00 hours, in Rushaki cell, these suspects allegedly assaulted the victim and had sexual intercourse with her in a remote area. Subsequently, they threatened the victim, warning her not to disclose the incident to anyone, and implying that harm would befall her if she did. However, the victim bravely informed her mother, who promptly reported the matter to the Kabale central Police station.
The crime scene has not been visited yet, as the complainant has not guided the police to the location. While relevant statements from witnesses have been obtained, the victim has been examined. Meanwhile, the suspects remain at large, and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend them for legal action.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
