The territorial police in Kabale District have launched an investigation into the death of an unidentified male adult, whose body was discovered in Rushera Village, Nyabushabi Parish, Kyanamira Sub-county. The body was found in the early morning hours of August 30, 2024, by local residents heading to their gardens. The deceased was partially clothed, missing a pair of trousers.

Upon discovering the body, the LC II Chairman of the area, Mutana Lasmas, was notified and subsequently reported the matter to the Kyanamira Police Station. The case was then escalated to Kabale Central Police Station (CPS), where a case file was opened.

Police officers visited the scene, where they documented and processed the site. The body was found lying in a bushy area on a hill, with visible fresh wounds on its private parts. The remains were transported to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem examination.

Authorities are urging anyone who may be missing a loved one to visit the hospital mortuary for possible identification and to facilitate a dignified burial. Additionally, the police are appealing to anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward, as they continue their investigation to apprehend those responsible.

ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, confirmed the ongoing investigation.
