Honorable Catheline Atwakiire Ndamira, the Woman Member of Parliament for Kabale District, recently addressed the youth, emphasizing the significance of safeguarding their dignity as an essential step towards responsible citizenship.
She shared this advice during a confirmation ceremony at the Apostles of Jesus St. Kizito Maziiba Catholic Parish in Kabale, where 390 individuals were confirmed into the Catholic faith. The event, held at the Maziiba Catholic Church Compound, was overseen by MSGR Sunday Vianney John, the Kabale Diocese Vicar General, acting on behalf of Diocesan Bishop Callist Rubaramira.
Hon. Atwakiire urged the Confirmants to prioritize Jesus Christ in all aspects of their lives, emphasizing adherence to the Catholic faith’s principles. She also highlighted the importance of respecting religious leaders and parents as a vital aspect of developing responsibility and reverence as citizens.
In addition to the spiritual guidance, she advised the youth to consider engaging in small income-generating projects. She specifically mentioned the potential benefits of rabbit rearing for their future well-being.
During his homily, Monsignor John Vianny Sunday, the Vicar General of the Kabale Diocese, cautioned the youth against being swayed by the attraction of emerging religions, stressing the importance of preserving their dignity as committed Christians.
