Kabale Regional Referral Hospital is set to benefit from enhanced security, improved access, and better sanitation following the demolition of illegal kiosks that had congested its entrance. The move, spearheaded by the Kabale District Security Committee and the Kabale Municipal Council, comes as part of a broader effort to restore order and safety in critical public health spaces.

According to Kabale RDC Godfrey Nyakahuma, the removal of the kiosks—some of which had become hubs for criminal activity and unauthorized commerce—marks a turning point in safeguarding patients, attendants, and hospital staff. The cleared space now opens up the possibility for more organized infrastructure planning, including potential installation of proper facilities for visitors and emergency vehicle access.

Public health advocates have welcomed the development, noting that the enforcement of hygiene and land use regulations around medical institutions is a step toward protecting the dignity and functionality of public healthcare services. The local government has also hinted at future plans to use the space for hospital-related infrastructure that better serves the community.
