The ministry of health yesterday delivered a consignment of medical equipment to hospitals and various health facilities in Kabale district.

The equipment was delivered by the Kabale woman member of parliament Hon Catherine Atwakiire Ndamira to authorities in the district at the district headquarters. The consignment included 60 beds, 34 mattresses, 60 bedsheets, and 60 blankets.

While handing over equipment to the district authorities, Hon Catherine Ndamira said the development intends to reduce congestion at Kabale regional referral hospital.

She added that the equipment will enable health center IVs, III’s and II’s in hard-to-reach areas to extend services to the community without laboring to seek medical services at Kabale regional referral hospital.

While receiving the equipment, the Kabale district health officer Dr. Gilbert Arineitwe Mateka, the district LCV chairman Nelson Nshangabasheija, and the Kabale resident district commissioner, Godfrey Nyakahuma, commended the legislator for tireless efforts to lobby for the district.

They said that they are optimistic that the equipment will boost health services in the district and also warmed in-charges at various health facilities against selling government equipment and urged them to execute their work.
