Byakatonda Alex, the Kabale District Communications Officer, has highlighted that preparations for this year’s Women’s Day celebrations in Kabale district are well underway.

The event is scheduled for this Friday, June 21st, at Kyanamira Primary Playground.

The guest of honor will be the Prime Minister of Uganda, Hon. Robbina Nabbanja.

It is anticipated that ten thousand attendees will gather from various parts of Uganda and beyond.

While Women’s Day is globally recognized on March 8th annually, Byakatonda explained that districts in Uganda have been granted the flexibility to commemorate this day on a date of their choosing until the end of the financial year, adhering to government guidelines.

Byakatonda emphasized that the day serves as a tribute to the invaluable contributions of mothers, sisters, and daughters towards the country’s development.

Kabale district will observe this year’s Women’s Day under the theme: “Invest in Women: Accelerating Progress”.
