Rev. Father Dr. Monsignor John Mary Vianny Sunday, the Vicar of Kabale Diocese, has implored Catholics to uphold their faith in Jesus Christ and avoid bringing shame to their religion by following false messengers.

He made the appeal on Sunday, 4th May 2025, in his homily while presiding over the 2025 Jubilee (a routine 25th pilgrim anniversary) and the opening of the Door of Pilgrims of Hope at Nyakibale Catholic Deanery of Kabale Diocese in Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality.

Dr. Misinya expressed concern over Catholics believing in false messengers due to challenges with religious leadership, yet emphasized that the Church is powerful enough to satisfy spiritual needs.

Rev. Father Fudeli Ndagijimana, the pastoral coordinator of Kabale Diocese, urged Christians to separate working days from fellowship and advocated for preparations for pilgrimages to Kabale Diocese, Namugongo, Kibeho, and the Vatican for those who are able.

Rev. Father Dr. Julius Turyatoranwa, the priest of Christ the King Parish and dean of Nyakibale Deanery, commended Catholics for the massive attendance and support from Mr. Maanige Wenceslas. He also advocated for preparations for July, the charity month for older persons.

Rev. Father Conrad Atuhaire, the priest of Nyakibale Catholic Parish, commended the strong faith exhibited by Catholics and condemned the confusion caused by politicians during prayers, who grab public address systems. He vowed to suspend catechists who fail to address this habit.

Hon. Mary Paula Turyahikayo, the former Rubabo County Member of Parliament, echoed the call for strong faith in Jesus Christ among pilgrims and advocated for her election as District Woman Member of Parliament to expand the development she had ushered into Rubabo County across the district.

Byamugisha David, the Pilgrim Chairperson of Nyakibale Parish, expressed gratitude for the morale received from the 2025 Jubilee, expecting an increased number of pilgrims this year. He reiterated ongoing prayers for a safe journey.
