Four deacons are to be ordained priests and eight seminarians are to be ordained deacons tomorrow in Kabale Diocese.
The deacons to be ordained priests are: Dn. Steven Niwandinda (Ndama Parish), Dn. Mark Aheisibwe (Nyarushanje Parish), Dn. Frank Atuzarirwe (Kitanga Parish), and Dn. Onesmus Ahabwe (Muchahi Parish) in Kabale Diocese.
The priestly ordination of the diocesan deacons will take place at Rushoroza Cathedral, Kabale Diocese. The main celebrant will be the Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira.
Speaking to our reporter, Father Akirizi Tumukurate, parish priest of Ndama, said the four deacons come from different communities, but they are especially joyful as Ndama Parish to have Deacon Steven Niwandinda from their parish.
He urged the newly ordained priests to emulate the life of Jesus Christ by serving Christians rather than waiting to be served, emphasizing the importance of obedience and closeness to Christ in their ministry.
According to Father Elias Kasigaire, parish priest of Nyarushanje Parish, Dn. Mark Aheisibwe, once ordained, will be the 10th priest of Nyarushanje Parish since it was established.
He encouraged the deacons to be ordained priests to have faith in God, exhibit humility, and serve as examples in God’s ministry. He also called upon Catholic youth to join religious vocations such as sisterhood and priesthood so that Nyarushanje Parish can continue to receive the blessing of more sisters and priests.
The seminarians to be ordained deacons are: Sem. Peregrino Beinomugisha (Christ the King Parish), Sem. Adon Aturinde (Nyakishenyi Parish), Sem. Justus Turyatunga (Rubanda Parish), Sem. Ivan Ndamira (Mutolere Parish), Sem. Sostine Mugisha (Muko Parish), Sem. Deusdedit Niwagaba (Rushoroza Cathedral), and Sem. Cyril Arthur Ayebazibwe (Rwanyena Parish).
