Kabale Diocese has proudly added a new spiritual home with the official inauguration of St. Francis Catholic Parish in Kyanamira on Sunday.
This marks the 42nd parish in the diocese and heralds the birth of a vibrant faith community set to nurture hope, faith, and love in the region.
The new parish, established under the Missionaries of Africa, will oversee three sub-parish centers: Kyanamira, Muyumbu, and Kacuro. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, Bishop of Kabale Diocese, who reminded the faithful of their divine calling to live by Christian values and to treasure God’s gifts above worldly distractions.
“Remain steadfast in your faith, anchored in hope, and committed to your mission as chosen children of God,” Bishop Rubaramira urged the congregation during the colorful Mass.
Leading the new parish will be Rev. Fr. Charles Nikiema as Parish Priest, supported by Rev. Fr. Balthazard Buhalagarha Grace and Rev. Fr. Armel Somda, all from the Missionaries of Africa.
The ceremony attracted prominent leaders, including Hon. Wilfred Niwagaba Rugamba’amazima, MP for Ndorwa East; Hon. Catheline Ndamira Atwakiire, Woman MP for Kabale District; Hon. Ndugu Eliab Naturinda Mporera, Ndorwa West MP flag bearer; Kabale District Chairman Nshangabasheija Nelson; and incoming Rukiga District LC5 Chairman Mbareba Michael, among others.
