The High Court of Uganda sitting in Kabale has issued an interim order restraining the removal of a caveat from disputed land in Kabale Municipality.

The ruling was delivered on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, by His Worship Kenneth Tumwebaze, Assistant Registrar, in a matter involving Turyahikayo Rweihunga Godfrey (applicant) and Twinomuhangi Angello Bagorogoza (respondent).

Court directed that the respondent and the Registrar of Titles should not remove the applicant’s caveat from the land comprised in Block 18, Plot 35 in Kabale Municipality until the main application for a temporary injunction is heard. The hearing has been fixed for October 22, 2025, at 9:00 am.

The interim order was granted in the presence of both parties, represented by their legal counsel, and the costs of the application will be determined in the main cause.

This ruling effectively preserves the status quo of the contested property as the court prepares to decide on the substantive application.
