Political activist Ingrid Turinawe Kamateneti, affiliated with the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF), has vowed to travel to Kahunda Grounds in Gulu District to cut down a tree allegedly designated by General Muhoozi Keinerugaba as the execution site for retired Colonel Dr. Kizza Besigye.
Speaking on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the funeral service of Mzee David Nihondi in Katungu Cell, Kigaaga Ward, Southern Division, Rukungiri Municipality, Turinawe claimed that General Muhoozi announced intentions to hang Dr. Besigye on June 9, 2025. She further accused Members of Parliament of accepting 100 million shillings from President Yoweri Museveni to endorse controversial court martial bills, calling the act a betrayal of Ugandans.
Meanwhile, Rev. Andrew Mwijuka, the Parish Priest of Kakonkoma Church of Uganda, expressed concern over the declining participation of men in church activities.
Amos Kasaaba, Vice Chairperson of LC1 Katungu Cell, praised the late Mzee David Nihondi for his exemplary citizenship and decried the increasing negligence among parents, citing alcoholism and failure to meet basic family responsibilities.
In a touching tribute, the late Mzee Nihondi’s widows, Beatrice and Generous Nihondi, remembered him as a devoted and responsible husband. Mzee Nihondi passed away due to injuries sustained in an accident and had been admitted at Karoli Lwanga Hospital Nyakibale. He is survived by two widows, three children, and six grandchildren.
