In Kyahi, within the Karuhembe parish in Kebison Sub-county Rukungiri district, residents are actively pursuing a suspect involved in the murder of a newborn baby, whose body was discarded in a toilet.
The gruesome discovery was made this morning when the local council leader noticed a woman, the wife of the suspect, moving about without the baby.
This raised concerns about the baby’s whereabouts, prompting locals to question the woman.
She eventually admitted that her husband knows where the baby is, leading to the shocking revelation that the infant had been thrown into a toilet.
Mbyemire Johnbosco, the LC1 chairperson of the area, reported that the incident unfolded when the suspect and his wife were expelled from their home by family members.
The expulsion followed accusations from the suspect’s family, alleging that he was tending to a pregnancy that was not his.
Efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect, known only as Katone, for further questioning. Additional details will be provided in subsequent news bulletins.
