As Rubanda West MP Moses Kamuntu gears up for the NRM party primaries, critics are raising questions over his renewed pledge to establish industries in the constituency—a promise he also made during the last elections but allegedly failed to fulfill in his four years in Parliament.

Speaking after receiving his nomination from the NRM Electoral Commission, Kamuntu vowed to lobby both government and private investors to set up industries as a strategy to combat youth unemployment. However, political observers and constituents have expressed skepticism, accusing the MP of recycling unfulfilled promises to gain political mileage.

With youth unemployment still rampant and no visible industrial developments in the area, Kamuntu’s credibility is now under public scrutiny as voters question whether this is a genuine commitment or campaign rhetoric.
