NTUNGAMO– The Inspectorate of government has ordered the Ntungamo district chief administrative officer to interdict the acting Ntungamo district water officer Mr. Dismus Tumushangye and the district senior internal auditor Mr. Ezra Kwesigamukama as they investigate the mess in contract management and shoddy works on a water project and several roads infrastructure.

In a letter dated May 25 2023 to the chief administrative officer Ntungamo, the Deputy inspector General of Government Ms Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe instructs that the two be interdicted as they investigate the diversion of public resources and shoddy works on four roads.

The two are accused of diverting the construction of a Ferro water tank meant for Rwebirere- Ruhara Church of Uganda that was diverted and constructed at the home of Mr. Benon Bihungu, a businessman in the area

Tumushangye is also charged with poorly presiding over poorly executed contracts on three roads in the district in contravention of the bills of quantities.

The roads 14Kms Kagarama- Rukarango- Rwamabondo, 25Kms Omungyenyi- Kagugugu- Kashanda and Kabagyenda- Kanyomozi- Rwakakoko- Nyaburiza- Rwera IG says were shoddily done.

The IG is in Ntungamo district investigating several corruption allegations from all district departments in a move to reduce corruption tendencies.
