A patient and three other people have survived death after an ambulance belonging to Kasese Woman MP; Florence Kabugho caught fire this evening en route from Kagando Hospital in Kaseseto Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.

According to Isma Ngabirano, one of the eyewitnesses said that the incident happened due to the wiring problem.

The incident happened at Omumkombe village, Ntangaro parish at the border of Rubirizi and Bushenyi districts. 

All the four occupants were rescued by the local residents and taken to Combino Hospital in Kyamuhunga, Bushenyi District. 

The Rubirizi district RDC Kikanshemeza Bruno said that after receiving the information they made the efforts to rescue them to Comboni Hospital for medical attention.

Police is yet to release detailed report about the cause of the fire.

On 11 may 2022, another ambulance belonging to Bwera General Hospital in Kasese burst into flames at Yerya in Kibito Sub County along Fort Portal-Kasese road in Bunayangabu district.

Two occupants of the ambulance died on the spot while two others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Kibito HCIV in Bunyangabu District.
