Hornby Girls High School in Kabale, in partnership with Kitojo Empowered Girls School in Bubaare Town Council, Rubanda District, on Sunday distributed relief items to patients in the maternity ward at Kamukira Health Centre IV as an act of sharing during the Lenten season.

The donated items included rice, sugar, sorghum flour, diapers, soap, and other essentials.

Deborah Aturinda Tororo, a teacher at Hornby High School and patron of the school’s charity club, emphasized the importance of sharing with those in need as part of God’s ministry during Lent. She noted that the initiative also aligns with the new competence-based curriculum, helping instill values in learners and preparing them to be socially responsible members of their communities.

Lucky Asiimwe, the Managing Director of Kitojo Empowered Girls School, encouraged the public to cultivate compassion during this period. He highlighted that fostering selflessness in young people contributes to community development.

Nancy Namara, a nursing officer at Kamukira Health Centre IV, expressed gratitude to the two schools for their kindness and generosity in supporting the patients.
