Hon Prosy Akampurira Begumisa Mbabazi, who serves as the Commissioner of Parliament and is also the Rubanda District Woman Member of Parliament, issued a warning to women about engaging in gossip and spreading rumors that can disrupt families. She delivered this message during a gathering at Hakirondorondo and Nyamiyaga trading centers, as well as at the Ikumba Sub County headquarters.

This meeting was organized by Hon Prosy Akampurira Begumisa Mbabazi to educate women about her new initiative called “Prosperous Women Rubanda (PWR),” which aims to support their livelihoods.

Akampurira emphasized that spreading false information or engaging in gossip is a violation of family members’ rights and is unacceptable. She encouraged women to use their influence and wisdom to foster peace and unity within their families.

Akampurira also highlighted women’s potential as agents of change in both their families and society as a whole, urging them to leverage their power to promote peace and harmony.

The Commissioner urged women to be advocates for their families and communities, speaking out against violence and abuse. She also encouraged women to actively participate in family decision-making processes and to stand up for their rights and the rights of their families.

Edivinah Mbahika, the LC2 Chairperson of Nyaruhanga ward, praised the legislator for extending the project to the community and believed it would bring about positive changes in families.
