The police in Rukungiri are currently investigating a case involving the alleged murder of a 51-year-old woman named Patience Kyozire. She was a resident of Kinyamatojo cell in Nyabubare parish, Bwambara sub-county, Rukungiri district.

According to reports, on the night of October 29, 2023, at approximately 11:00 PM, the deceased was at a bar owned by Henry Orikiriza, located in Burambira Trading Center. She was accompanied by Yoramu Banturaki and a son of a man named Sam, both of whom were residents of a neighboring village called Bitereko.

It is alleged that during their time at the bar, Yoramu and Sam’s son were making advances towards the deceased, particularly by buying her Eagle beer. Subsequently, the three of them left the bar and headed towards Bwambara, but neither Yoramu nor Sam’s son returned to the Trading Center.

The following morning, on October 30, 2023, at approximately 7:30 AM, a woman named Turyasingura Anah discovered the lifeless body of Patience Kyozire in the compound of Turyasingura Henry. She immediately informed Henry about the discovery. Consequently, the local area chairperson, Ochan Byakatonda, was notified, and the incident was reported to the Bwambara police station.

The crime scene was visited, examined, and documented by the authorities. The body of the deceased was then transported to the mortuary at Rwakabengo Health Centre III for a postmortem examination. The investigation into the matter is currently ongoing.
