The North Kigezi diocesan Fathers union has today elected Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa as the new diocesan father’s union president to push the union for 4 years.
The election was done today conducted by the diocesan fathers’ union council at the mothers’ union headquarters in kinyasaano ward, Rukungiri municipality, where Hon. Rutahigwa edged Peter Tuhiirwe by 51 votes to 13.
According to Rev. Adonia Kibangira, the diocesan Fathers’ union coordinator, the newly elected leadership is replacing the outgoing leadership that has served for 4 years
After winning the election, Rutahirwa said he is ready to support the union and ensure that more members join.
He added that he will visit provincial authorities, and request them to allow unwedded men also to join the union, noting that from the union, unwedded men are in position to be taught and convinced to wed.
