Kiruhura district police have recorded a significant traffic accident involving a Global Bus with registration number UBG 812K, an orange Isuzu, driven by Mugisha Elly, aged 59. The incident occurred at Kibega along the Kiruhura-Mbarara highway, resulting in injury to an unidentified adult female.
Reportedly, on the evening of March 29, 2024, around 7:00 PM, the aforementioned bus, en route from Kampala to Mbarara, encountered an unidentified trailer overtaking another trailer in the opposite direction near Kibega. To avoid a potential head-on collision with the overtaking trailer, the bus driver veered off the road, leading to a single serious road accident.
The accident caused injury to an unidentified female passenger, who was promptly transported to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention. The vehicle involved will be taken to Sanga police station pending the Inspector of Vehicles’ report.
Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
