Supporters of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces, and the Patriotic League of Uganda from Rukungiri district gathered at Rukungiri Inn Wednesday to celebrate his 50th birthday.

Speaking at the event, the Chairperson of the Patriotic League of Uganda for Rukungiri district, Mr. Innocent Turyahabwe Kayino, expressed appreciation for Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s achievements, highlighting his contributions that have garnered significant support and merit celebration.

The people of Rukungiri, led by Mr. Innocent Kayino, Ambrose Kibuuka, and other supporters of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, established the Patriotic League of Uganda as a civic organization to promote good citizenship, national pride, service to the nation, protection of vulnerable individuals, and environmental conservation.

Mr. Kayino commended the support and participation of the people of Rukungiri in celebrating Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s 50th birthday, urging them to continue their support as the PLU works for their welfare. He emphasized the organization’s commitment to mobilizing Ugandans to fulfill their civic duties and safeguard the country’s unique natural and social harmony.

The guest of honor, Mpissi Mujuni Lorence, stressed the importance of patriotism, emphasizing the love for one’s country above all else. He assured that the efforts of the Patriotic League of Uganda to revive patriotism would remain non-partisan.

The event aimed to bring together supporters of both the NRM and Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, demonstrating unity and a common purpose among the people of Rukungiri. Ambrose Kibuuka, one of the organizers, expressed gratitude for the large turnout, seeing it as a testament to unity, love, and a shared vision among the people of Rukungiri.

The birthday celebration, attended by individuals from diverse backgrounds, symbolized unity and a collective determination to build a prosperous future together. It also served to acknowledge the role of the armed forces in ensuring peace and stability in the country and the region.

Kibuuka expressed appreciation for the leadership of President Gen. Kaguta Museveni and his role in establishing the Patriotic League of Uganda. However, amidst the celebrations, chaos erupted as boda boda riders protested inadequate payment for their services to the event. They demanded higher compensation, which was eventually provided after some commotion.
