He lauded Gen. Besigye, an alumnus of the school, for his generosity and commitment to giving back to his alma mater. He prayed for continued blessings and success in Gen. Besigye’s endeavors and urged other alumni to emulate his example by contributing to the schools that laid their foundational education.
The commissioned project includes a self-contained two-room house, a kitchen, and a two-stance latrine.

He urged the current students to learn the importance of gratitude and supporting their schools as they progress in life. He highlighted the school’s ongoing challenge of inadequate staff housing, noting that while the head teacher’s housing needs have been addressed, he hopes for similar provisions for other staff members in the future.
Speaking at the event, Gen. Besigye explained that the donation was in commemoration of the 52nd anniversary of his graduation from Katoonya Primary School. He shared that the school provided the foundation for his success as a civil engineer and Brigadier in the army. Gen. Besigye reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the school in various ways, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in supplementing government efforts to improve education for young Ugandans.
James Twinomujuni, the Head Teacher of Katoonya Primary School, received the house keys with immense gratitude. He expressed relief and joy, noting the challenges he previously faced due to the lack of staff quarters, which required him to commute long distances daily. He pledged to maintain the house diligently to ensure it remains in good condition for future head teachers.
The school community celebrated the milestone as a significant step towards its development and improvement.
