Retired Capt. JB Tumusiime Bamuturaki, the former chairperson of Mbarara District, has extended his best wishes to 1,780 Primary Seven candidates by distributing success cards with motivational messages. The cards, containing encouraging words such as, “Success is the dream for which others wake up and work,” were part of his patriotic support for education in Kashari South constituency.
In his message, Capt. Tumusiime highlighted that success stems from aspiration, desperation, perspiration, and inspiration. He urged the pupils to love what they do and emphasized that taking action is key to achieving success.
The “Key to Success” cards were distributed to students from 52 primary schools—44 government-aided and 8 privately run—in the sub-counties of Bubaare, Bukiro, and Rubaya, as well as in the town councils of Bwizibwera-Rutooma, Bukiro, and Rwanyamahembe, all located within Kashari South constituency.
The distribution of the cards was carried out by Mugizi Robert, the Chief Coordinator of Capt. Tumusiime’s team in Kashari South. Mugizi urged both parents and pupils to resist the temptation of purchasing fake exam papers that may be in circulation.
Julius Mwesigwa, the Chief Political Mobilizer and Secretary of Capt. Tumusiime’s team, explained that the initiative aims to boost the confidence of Primary Seven candidates, encouraging them to perform well in their upcoming Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE). The gesture has become an annual tradition that supports both learners and their families.
Leonard Burimpikare, the Member of the PTA and Treasurer of Bwizibwera Town School, expressed his gratitude to Capt. Tumusiime for his passion for developmental programs, particularly in education. He emphasized how the annual support from Capt. Tumusiime has made a positive impact on the community.
Michael Turyaija, Deputy Head Teacher at Bwizibwera Town School, also thanked Capt. Tumusiime for providing preparatory examinations, which played a key role in enhancing the students’ readiness for the PLE. He noted that these exams helped sharpen the pupils’ intelligence and performance.
Syson Komwaka, a pupil at Rutooma Modern Primary School, expressed appreciation for the extra exam materials, which complemented the teaching efforts of their dedicated teachers. Komwaka said the support made the students more confident and prepared to face their PLE without fear.
This initiative by Capt. Tumusiime Bamuturaki is seen as a significant contribution to improving the education standards in Kashari South constituency.
