Rev. Capt. Mark Nabimanya, the Education Coordinator for South Ankole Diocese, has called on fathers to regularly attend church services and seek guidance from God to overcome their challenges.

In a sermon at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano during the celebrations of Saint Peter’s Day, he highlighted that many men do not attend church, leaving it predominantly to women.

This absence, he noted, has exacerbated family challenges. He expressed concern that a significant number of men are often found at boda boda stages or in prison, neglecting church attendance. Additionally, he pointed out that men are reluctant to share their grievances with their partners and friends, leading to increased depression among them.

Amos Tukashaba, the Commissioner of Prisons and the chief guest, emphasized that fathers are shepherds guided by God, the supreme shepherd. He challenged men to exemplify the leadership demonstrated by God.

The Very Rev. Amatsiko Niwegariho, Dean of Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano, and Peter Tuhairwe, Chairperson of the Father’s Union, urged men to lead their families in a godly manner and collaborate with their wives to develop their homes. They explained that the Thanksgiving event aimed to raise funds to complete the construction of the Fathers Union Building and thanked the Christians for their support.
