During the wedding service of Nelson and Talent Tumuramye at St Peter’s Cathedral Rugarama in Kabale municipality, the Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt Rev Eng. George Bagamuhunda, urged married couples to prioritize faithfulness and family development over worldly privileges.
Bishop Bagamuhunda emphasized the significance of building strong and loving relationships, placing a greater emphasis on commitment rather than material possessions. In his sermon, he reminded the congregation of the values of love, trust, and partnership as essential elements for creating a harmonious marriage.
Encouraging the newlyweds and the congregation, Bishop Bagamuhunda stressed the importance of prioritizing the well-being of their families and supporting each other through life’s highs and lows.
During the event, the state Minister for Finance (General duties), Honorable Henry Musasizi Ariganyira, addressed the issue of domestic violence in his speech. He advised couples, especially Christians, to avoid such harmful behavior and highlighted the seriousness of domestic violence across various religious backgrounds. Minister Musasizi emphasized the importance of leaders and authorities speaking out against domestic violence and promoting healthy, respectful relationships.
Additionally, Hon Wilfred Niwagaba, the Ndorwa East constituency Member of Parliament, offered advice to married couples. He urged them to love each other wholeheartedly and be open to each other’s needs.
