Retired Emeritus Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Patrick Tugume Tusigwire, has called upon Christians to consistently express gratitude to God to attract and maintain His blessings. He delivered this message during a thanksgiving service at St. Paul Rwanyanja Church of Uganda, Bugangari Archdeaconry, Rukungiri District.
Speaking at the event held in honor of Mr. Boaz Rutera, the head of the laity of Bugangari Archdeaconry in North Kigezi Diocese, Rukungiri district, Rt. Rev. Tugume emphasized that many people often forget to thank God after achieving success. He warned that neglecting this act of gratitude displeases God.
“Giving back to God is not about material wealth; it is about surrendering your life to Him and working for His glory. This is how your blessings will be multiplied,” said Tugume. He also reminded the congregation of the importance of following God’s commandments, urging them to love God with all their heart, soul, and mind, and to love their neighbors as themselves.
Mr. Boaz Rutera explained that his decision to give thanks was inspired by his desire to support the Diocese by clearing outstanding debts from St. Paul Rwanyanja C.O.U. He also expressed gratitude for surviving a life-threatening accident and for the blessings bestowed upon his family.
Rev. Richard Kwehangana, the reverend of St. Paul’s Rwanyanja C.O.U., thanked the congregation for their contributions, which have enabled the church to make significant strides in addressing its financial obligations.
The Thanksgiving event raised over UGX 15 million to support the Diocese.
