Christians have been urged to live as pilgrims of hope, embrace peace, and uphold the spirit of thanksgiving, with a reminder that the birth of Christ initiates these virtues in the lives of believers.

The call was made today by Rev. Fr. Didas Muwhezi of Kyitabi Parish, Mbarara Diocese, while presiding over a thanksgiving Mass and housewarming ceremony for Boona FM agent Alex Niwagaba. The function was held at Kyafora Catholic Centre in Rugarama North, Ntungamo District.

Rev. Fr. Muwhezi encouraged Christians to always share the little they have with those in need, noting that God blesses a giving hand. He urged believers to share God’s love with others, just as God showed love to sinful humanity by giving His only begotten Son for the salvation of humankind.

He further called upon Christians to prepare their hearts to receive Christ with hope, share the joy and love found in Christ without discrimination, and remain thankful to God at all times. He also emphasized the importance of dedicating children to God through baptism.

In his remarks, Alex Niwagaba thanked God for the gift of life, the blessing of children, and the development of the centre, noting plans to construct a new church. He appreciated the congregation for their support during the function, which raised 1.2 million Uganda shillings.

Boona FM Director Maanige Wenceslaus, who is also the godfather of Niwagaba’s child, thanked Alex for entrusting him with the responsibility. He praised Alex as a trustworthy person and pledged to guide the child in Christian values, ensuring he grows into a responsible and important person in society. He also encouraged the parents to raise the child together with love and care.

Maanige further commended the LC3 Chairperson of Rugarama North, Rwanyakyibare, for being a good leader and a strong link between the people, government, and Boona FM in ensuring service delivery to the community.

During the same Mass, more than ten children were baptized and welcomed into the family of God, while over twenty Christians received the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.
