Hundreds of Christians have today Tuesday 15th August 2023 thronged Christ the King Parish, Kabale Diocese in Rukungiri Municipality to celebrate the day of the Holly Virgin Mary.
Roman Catholic churches in the whole world celebrate Holly Virgin Mary’s Day on 15th August every year to mark the day she ascended to heaven.
The Holly Virgin Mary is remembered for having been born without birth-belated sin whose body was used to deliver Jesus Christ after conceiving by the Holly spirit.
Rev Father Dr. Julius Turyatoranwa, Christ the King Parish Priest who presided over the mass challenged Christians to live the exemplary lives of true Christians by practicing all the Catholic Church norms in their families.
He further cautioned Christians to get rid of other religions which preach against them as well as burning Catholic Church symbols such as the Rosary and the portrait of the Virgin Mary emphasizing that they have mighty power they don’t know and some are evil.
Barigye Clare, the leader of the Holly Virgin Mary prayers who hails from Rwakabengo revealed that she overwhelmingly celebrates Holly Virgin Mary’s day because she has survived on Mary’s prayers ever since she became a widow at the age of 32 and now she is 70.
