24 schools from Buyanja Town Council and Buyanja Sub-county—21 government-aided and 3 community-supported—have received computers and photocopiers worth UGX 35 million. The donation, from the association Buyanja My Roots, is aimed at enhancing digital education and introducing learners to computer literacy.

Dr. Adrian Beinebyaabo Bwankwindi, Chief Advisor of Buyanja My Roots, said the association, which started in 2017, now has over 3,000 members and operates under 13 pillars, including the Give Back initiative.
He noted previous support to Kasheshe and Buyanja Health Centres and emphasized their current focus on education through ICT donations and 20 scholarships.

He also mentioned their plans to support urbanization of trading centres and complement local government efforts. However, he expressed concern over the lack of electricity in some schools.

Association Chairperson, Asinguza Allan Mutemba, listed pillars such as investment, education, health, agribusiness, and infrastructure. He urged schools to secure the donated equipment with watchmen.

Senior Education Officer Ganshanga Anxious, speaking for the District Education Officer, confirmed the electricity gap and highlighted theft as a growing concern, citing stolen teller machines and lightning arresters in schools.

LC3 Chairperson for Buyanja, Agaba Emmy Rubondo, praised Buyanja My Roots for driving health, education, and infrastructure development.

Rukungiri Deputy CAO, Agaba David Hillary, who officiated the event, hailed the association’s impact and urged other communities to emulate its efforts in transforming lives.
