On Black Saturday in Kabale District, a tragic incident unfolded as a businesswoman took her own life.
The deceased, identified as Gloria Uwimaana, aged in her 40s and residing in Kamukira cell, Kirigime ward in Southern Division of Kabale Municipality, made the fateful decision.
John Bosco Byabasheija, the LC1 Chairman of Kamukira cell, revealed that Gloria left her marital home and ended her life in their under-construction house in Rwamukundi Cell, Mwanjari ward in Southern Division earlier that morning. Byabasheija expressed profound dismay over the event, emphasizing the importance of seeking guidance and assistance from authorities before resorting to such extreme measures.
Authorities from Kabale Police Station were promptly informed and responded to the scene. They transported the deceased’s body to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination. However, as of the time of reporting, the police had not issued any official statement regarding the incident.
