Police in Bushenyi District have arrested a businesswoman and three of her workers on allegations of murder.
Marcial Tumusiime the greater Bushenyi police spokesperson confirmed the incident and identified the four suspects as Twongirwe Lilian 38 bar owner and residents of Nyakahita village, Reishe Parish, Ibare Sub-county in Bushenyi District.
Others are Patience Katusiime 18, Jiliet Nampa 22, and Doreen Tugabirwe 23 all bar attendants and residents of the same address.
Tumusiime further identified the deceased as Medard Muhebwa alias Kapere, 53 years old, a casual laborer, and a resident of Nyakahita village, Reishe parish in Ibare Sub-county Bushenyi District.
It’s alleged that on 28th/ 08/2023 in the evening the deceased left home where he had been staying with his mother and children to go to Kashenyi town for a drink.
However he did not inform his people which bar he was going to and he did not return home till early morning of 29/08/2023 when the neighbor on her way to the garden, found the body lying in a pool of blood on the path leading to the deceased’s home.
Gertrude Kyabaishiki 59 a peasant, went and informed the deceased’s mother Kamayonza Getrida with whom they moved to the scene and confirmed, then they reported the matter to the police at Kashenyi.
Tumusiime said police detectives were dispatched to the scene and they used a canine that led police to the bar of Twongirwe Lilian which led to her arrest and the three of her co-workers.
He said the body had big wounds on the face, and a very big depression on the right side of the head and was taken to Kitagata Hospital for Postmortem.
