Ugandan grain billionaire Apollo Nyegamahe alias Aponye has died in a road accident.
The bloody incident occurred on Thursday night in Ntungamo, southwestern Uganda.
Our reporter has established that ‘Aponye’ was going for the burial of an old friend identified as Simeo.
Simeo, who passed away on Wednesday, was among the first businessmen in Kabale and used to trade with Aponye.
Aponye died in a tragic car accident at Itojo, in Ntingamo District on Thursday evening.
It is not yet clear what caused the accident, but the businessman is said to have died on the spot.
Aponye (deceased) his driver and another yet to be identified occupants were riding a Toyota Landcruiser number UBF 300Z.
He was also elected NRM chairman for Rukiga District and has been an ardent supporter of the ruling NRM until his death.
Police are yet to release a full statement on this tragic accident.
