Chairperson Mbarara district, Tabaro Didas, commended Bukiro Seed Secondary School in Mbarara for prioritizing skills development as a pathway to job creation, urging all schools to follow suit.

Tabaro made these remarks while presiding over the Thanksgiving and annual school day celebrations at Bukiro Seed Secondary School in Bukiro town council, Mbarara district.

Addressing the challenge of a missing electric transformer, which was acknowledged by Member of Parliament Kashari South, Nathan Twesigye Itungo, from the Ministry of Energy, Tabaro assured that they are actively pursuing the matter with the police.

Tabaro also expressed gratitude towards the parents of Bukiro Seed Secondary School for their support in enabling the school committees to generate funds for the construction of two additional classroom blocks, thereby assisting the government in expanding learning spaces.

The Headmistress of Bukiro Seed Secondary School, Mrs. Nuwagaba Maureen Ndyabawe, highlighted the school’s capacity strain, noting that while originally designed for three hundred students, it now accommodates over five hundred and ninety learners, necessitating the urgent construction of more classrooms.

She further revealed that the school requires over ninety million shillings for the construction project, with parents contributing ten million shillings, held in the Bukiro Sacco, collected through a twenty-thousand-shilling fee per learner each term.

Chairperson of Bukiro Seed Secondary School, Tibaijuka George William, urged the government to investigate and take legal action against Member of Parliament Kashari South, Mbarara district, Nathan Itungo Twesigye, for alleged sabotage of government education initiatives.
