The Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Onesimus Asiimwe presided over a confirmation service at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano, where students from Makobore High School, Kinyasano Girls High School, and Immaculate Girls High School Nyakibale were confirmed.
In his sermon, the Bishop encouraged the students to prioritize seeking the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, referencing Matthew 6:33, rather than worrying about worldly affairs or resorting to dubious means to fulfill their desires. He emphasized the importance of prayer and trust in God’s provision.
The service saw 45 individuals commit their lives to Christ, while 148 were confirmed in the Anglican faith, with varying numbers from each school. Following the service, the Bishop shared dinner with representatives from the schools, expressing gratitude to Dean Amatsiko Niwegariho for coordinating the joint confirmation service. Accompanying the Immaculate Heart Girls students were Rev Fr Cleophas Mugabe, the school chaplain, and some of their teachers.
