Chairperson LC3 Buhunga Sub County in Rukungiri District, Mugisha Benon, also known as Aunt, encouraged the youth to invest their time in acquiring life skills and engaging in income-generating initiatives for a better future. He shared this advice on Friday, January 5, 2024, while presiding over the conclusion of the Brazius Football Cup tournament at Rwemburara Play ground in Kibirizi Parish, Buhunga Sub County, Rukungiri District.
The Brazius Football Cup tournament was sponsored by Nuwamanya Brazius Kasenene, an electrician and sports enthusiast residing in Kibara Cell of Kibirizi Parish.
Mugisha Benon highlighted the energy and positive thinking of the youth, emphasizing their capability to initiate investments for future well-being.BEN
Yudaya Evalyn, the Sub County Woman Councilor representing Kibirizi Parish, commended Brazius for organizing the tournament, which fostered friendship, unity, and showcased talent. She urged the youth to channel their time into positive activities.
Nuwamanya Brazius Kasenene, the initiator of the tournament, praised the discipline and team spirit exhibited by both participants and spectators, expressing satisfaction with the successful conclusion of the event. He revealed that the tournament was initiated to promote unity, talent, and to alleviate stress, drawing from his experiences growing up as an orphan.
Bakashaba Darlington Mamen, the Nyamabale Cell team Captain and winners of the tournament, thanked Brazius for providing an avenue for the youth to stay engaged, steer clear of criminal activities, nurture their talents, and build camaraderie.
Eight teams from the eight cells of Kibirizi Parish participated in the tournament, with Nyamabale emerging victorious by defeating Kibirizi 1-0. The winning team received a goat, while the other seven teams received envelopes as recognition.
