Speaking at a ceremony hosted by St. Mark High School Nyakibale to celebrate their outstanding UCE results in 2023, Wenceslas stressed that education serves as the great equalizer between socioeconomic classes.
He emphasized that regardless of background, an ‘A’ achieved by a student holds equal value, highlighting the transformative power of education in shaping individuals’ lives.
Wenceslas urged parents to collaborate closely with teachers, acknowledging their tireless efforts in ensuring students’ academic success and encouraging parents to support and motivate their hard work.
Expressing gratitude to parents for entrusting their children to St. Mark High School, Wenceslas pledged the institution’s continued commitment to academic excellence.
Raymond Rukundo, the school’s director, commended the government’s support for the education sector and urged parents to actively engage in their children’s educational journey, emphasizing the collective responsibility of parents, teachers, and students in ensuring academic success.
Fortunate Akanyihayo Rukundo, the school’s headteacher, attributed the remarkable performance of 31 students achieving Division One and 12 students achieving Division Two to the collaborative efforts of teachers, students, and parents, along with a culture of discipline and hard work. She encouraged current students to emulate the dedication of their predecessors and maintain the school’s esteemed reputation through their studies.
